JACKY XUE

I was born in Shanghai in 1982, the year when Italy won the football World Cup in Spain. It was Italy’s Paolo Rossi, the champion “by chance,” the young player of Vicenza that has always loved the low profile. Even my journey into the world of Italian cuisine began step by step and without making a sound. Always driven by passion and love for quality, initially only linked to the universe food. Year after year, trip after trip, I began to learn about Italy’s wine. Chinese and Italian clients have never stopped suggest me new wines, unknown even to many of my Italian friends who often come to Top Chef. Few months ago I started the new adventure of PRIMO. The most important Chinese wine lovers every night transformed my restauraunt into a great Shanghainese enoteca. The TV channel ICS and local newspaper Morning Post have given much attention to the food and wine pairings that every night we propose and are suggested by the customers who love Italy. I saw the first steps of Vinitaly in China, first in Chengdu and then in Shanghai. I followed the first masterclass of Vinitaly International Academy held by Lingzi He in Shanghai. A discovery of Italian wines as I had ever undertaken. Being in Verona and follow the lessons of Ian D’Agata - of which I still remember his advices on my wine list - and see OperaWine and Vinitaly would be the realization of a dream. “
